Rachel Russell (CHOREOGRAPHER/DANCER) is from Kansas City, Missouri. She has a BFA in dance from UMKC. Some of her choreographic credits include Rogers & Hamerstein's "Cinderella" and "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown." She's been dancing professionally since 2003, in Kansas City and NYC. She performs with ellen stokes shadle/DanceWorks and has worked with such choreographers as Kim LaRue, Thomas Scott, Andrea Andresakis, and Rodni Williams. Winston Dynamite Brown (DANCER), a native of Kansas City, MO, started dancing at Smith Sisters Dance Studio. He trained at the Missouri State Ballet, the University of Missouri Kansas City where he earned his BFA, and The Center Dance under the Mentorship of Tyrone Aiken. He has worked with the Wylliams/Henry Danse Theatre, Deeply Rooted Productions, Albany Berkshire Ballet, the National Dance Company of Nassau, the Missouri State Ballet, Alonzo King pre-professional program, and Jacob's Pillow summer intensive. He was the inaugural recipient of the Lorna Strassler Award for Excellence and a three-time fellowship recipient at the Alvin Ailey School. Mr. Brown joined Taylor 2 in the Spring of 2005.
Zachary L. Denison (DANCER) hails from Rogers, AR. Credits include 25th Anniversary National Tour of "Cats;" Broadway national tour of "Music Man;" and international tour of "Sesame Street Live." He is a member of the Steps Scholarship Ensemble and has worked with such choreographers as Steven Sofia, Bradley Shelver and Jason Winters. Most recently he appeared in the premier of the new piece, "From the Limb" by Heidi Latsky. He studied with American Music and Dramatic Academy, Broadway Dance Center and has trained intensively with A. C. Ciula, Michelle Assaf, Wes Veldink and Jana Hicks.
Amy Highfill (DANCER) is a dancer and actor from Kansas City, MO. She recently studied and performed improv at the Upright Citizen's Brigade, and was also seen on NBC's "30 Rock" dancing with Tina Fey. She is currently working on a play with Tony award winner Ray Aranha in "Night Must Fall." Check out Amy with sketch comedians, The Tenderloins, featured on Carson Daly. Amy is also currently working on her first clothing designs to be seen in Soho in October. Thanks to "Pogo & Evie" and an awesome cast! And to Steve... Mwwaaa!
Latra Wilson (DANCER), born in Tyler, TX, began her training at the Dance Factory under the tutelage of Pamela Erwin. She then went on to study at the University of Missouri Kansas City were she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Dance in May 2005, and performed numerous works by DeeAnna Hiett, Sabrina Maddison-Cannon, Jennifer Medina, and Rodni Williams. Ms. Wilson was a two-time fellowship to the Alvin Ailey summer intensive program. Along with performing at the Kennedy Center at the National College Dance Festival, her professional credits include Setting the Stage with the Kansas City Friends of Alvin Ailey, and as an apprentice with Wylliams/Henry Danse Theatre. Ms. Wilson joined Taylor 2 in the Spring of 2005.
Melvin Shambry, Jr. (DANCER) is thrilled to be involved with "Pogo and Evie." Trained at The American Musical and Dramatic Academy, Melvin has performed in such Off-Broadway shows as "Backstage: A Love Hate Story," "The Womans Movement (Frederick Douglass/Barack Obama) and Sally and Tom (Madison Hemmings). National Tours and Regional Theatre include: "Miss Saigon (John)," "Big River" (Jim), "Showboat" (Joe), "Honk" (Ugly Duckling), "Annie" (Rooster), "Tom, Dick and Harry" (Harry), "Man of No Importance" (Sully O Hara).
